Tire choice was crucial as the course remained slippery and technical in certain sections and fast in other sections.

I started well, lost a bit but then I came back. I had a good placing even though I wasn't feeling 100%. After Houffalize and Pernes les Fontaines where I had problems it was good to be back. It's a great placing considering my form.

Alexis Vuillermoz - Lapierre International climbed on the podium in the U23 race. Following a mechanical just before the last lap, Alex bit the bullet and finished totally exhausted.
